Becoming A Team Member at Bridges of Wisconsin

What Does It Feel Like to Make a Difference in a Person’s Life?
Bridges of Wisconsin is about creating the best opportunities for long term care recipients to enjoy life. Our company slogan is “Providing supports that build bridges between individuals and their communities.” What does that slogan mean? It means we bring as much joy and hope into people’s lives that their current health will allow. Would you like to help people feel alive and enjoy life?

Without our team members, some people could not do something as simple as enjoying a fresh breakfast. Your willingness to say yes could mean the difference between a person getting to live in their cozy home or getting shipped off to a sterile nursing home. More than anything, to work with us, you just need to take the time to care. Your contribution in someone’s life can make all the difference between someone giving up and someone enjoying the life they have.

The difference we see in clients is most obvious when people come to us from other long term health providers. While most long-term care facilities have a long list of “no’s” and “don’ts,” we look for ways to say “yes” to our clients. When you see a client’s face brighten up, when you hear that heart felt thank you, when the family says they can see a difference, then you know you have made a difference in the world.

For Scott McCardell, our founder, one of his favorite stories was taking a woman in her 50’s into a grocery store for the first time. The joy on her face was like the morning sun; she had never seen anything so wonderful before as a building that had so much food, so many wonderful treats she had never even imagined before, and she could have any food she wanted from that store. Like so many other happy memories others on our team have made, it is a memory Scott never forgot.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a college degree?

No. Some of our staff have degrees, some are in college, and some just have a high school diploma. We do all the training you need. Your desire to help people is far more important than your education.

Do I need Prior Experience?

No. We train all our team members.

Do I have to wear a uniform?

No! You can wear whatever clothes you like that fit within our company guidelines. In general, clothes you can wear in public without offending anyone will work just fine.

How old must I be to work for Bridges of Wisconsin?

We have employees that are anywhere from 18 on up. We need you to be a legal adult to administer care (at least 18) and there is no age limit to our care givers.

Will I work in a group or work alone?

Yes! Alright, maybe “yes” is the wrong answer. We have opportunities to work one-on-one with clients in their homes and opportunities to work in teams in our group homes. After your initial training, we try to place people in the environment they are best suited for. Whether you work in groups or one-on-one with clients you will always be part of our team getting all the support you need.
